This Raid

What You're
Signing Up For.

This is the raid currently taking bookings. Everything below is confirmed: the dates, the convoy size, the support vehicle and the medic. When the seats are gone the date closes — we do not add riders to a convoy that is already full.

The world's highest motorable road, at 5,882 metres. Thin air, thinner margins, and a support vehicle carrying supplemental oxygen the entire way.

The Packing List.

Cold-weather riding gear is provided — tell us your size when you book. Everything else on this list is yours to bring.

Riding kit

  • Helmet you have already worn for a full day
  • Armoured jacket and trousers, or a one-piece touring suit
  • Gloves — one warm pair, one lighter pair
  • Ankle-covering boots with a firm sole
  • Clear and tinted visors, or riding glasses

Layers for altitude

  • Thermal base layers, two sets
  • Fleece or down mid-layer
  • Windproof outer shell
  • Warm hat, buff and thick socks
  • Sandals or trainers for the evenings

Documents

  • Six passport photographs for the permits
  • Valid motorcycle licence — an International Driving Permit if you are not Indian
  • Travel and medical insurance certificate

Personal

  • Any prescription medicine, in its original packaging
  • High-SPF sun cream and lip balm — the sun at 5,000 m is brutal
  • A one-litre water bottle
  • Power bank and charging cables
  • A small daypack for the support vehicle
  • Two acclimatisation days are built into the route and are not optional.
  • Cold-weather riding gear is provided — tell us your size when you book.

  • Weather can move a pass day. The guide's call on the morning is final.
